Newly delivered ''Fugro Searcher'' receives DELFTload

Fugro searcher during sea trials. Photograph courtesy of FugroOn 12 March 2010, Fugro took delivery of a new-build survey vessel, the MV "Fugro Searcher". The high-tech survey vessel was build by the German shipyard Fr. Fassmer GmbH & Co. KG located near Bremen.
Fugro installed the latest equipment, making it the most advanced vessel of its type in the world. The vessel will operate in the offshore oil and gas industry and the offshore renewable energy sector. Geotechnical equipment will be installed on a project by project basis. One of the main features of the Fugro searcher is the large A-Frame on the working deck. In order to operate this A-Frame the DELFTload crane extension was modifiedto cope with a variety of crane types.

DELFTload will be used to calculate the effects on the vessel's stability of both suspended loads in the A-frame as well as the varying project equipment stored on the large working deck.
