So, I had been using FreeSHIP (the GPL predecessor to this s/w) to model the skins for a dinghy, but the plate development is not correct in FreeSHIP, but it looks like it works correctly in DELFTship Free ... so I wanted to make some more experiments with the free version before buying ...

Anyway, I load my model from FreeSHIP and it seems to load correctly, the plates look correct. I added stations and wanted to make an export, correct any measurements at the stations so I can be certain the hull fits exactly to the class rules for this boat, and then re-import the offsets table ...

First, the program does not seem to like the offsets table from FreeSHIP ... so I tried to export offset table from DELFTship, but that comes with just "0.000 0.000 0.000" for all the entires, what did I do wrong?

hull is attached ...

OK, I'm even more confused now ... the file on the previous message, produces very incorrect plate development that will never make the hull as drawn ...

The file attached to this message is the same hull, but mirrored, and produces correct plate development ...

So, I played some more ... if you take that hull (solo_chine_original, previous post), look at the "unfold to 2D" plates ... now, rotate the hull 180 degrees in the vertical axis ... unfold again, and the plates are completely different, rotate another 180 degrees in the vertical axis, and they go back to the first version.

What is certain is that rotating the hull in the vertical axis should NOT alter the shape of any of the plates.

I do not know if any version is correct, but the first version before rotation looks more likely to make something about the correct shape, after rotation, the unfolded shape is very wrong ... Something is broken somewhere, I really only need this to produce some DXF files for my CNC router to cut the hull ... I need to be certain that the output is correct before cutting ~£800 worth of wood!
